Puppies on Houses

*NOTE: I wrote this post awhile ago obviously, but I forgot to post it. Oops! Figured better late than never.*

So my puppies are officially over 6 months old now. My how the time has flown by!

Over a month ago I put them out into the dog lot and they suddenly had to grow up. Sad day for a puppy. I wanted to wait until they were a full 6 months before moving them into their own individual houses, but puppy fights and rough housing were getting to be too much. I drew the line once blood came into the picture.

Putting puppies onto chains at their houses can be a little sad. For one, it means they are no longer your itty-bitty little babes anymore. But the hardest part is watching them try to adjust: they put on their most pathetic faces and cry their most forlorn wails of seeming abandonment.

I mean look at Radoux.
He simply laid down and gave up on life.

I know it looks like he's just sunning himself. Trust me, he wasn't. Just look at those eyes. Those are the eyes of a spoiled puppy who has given up on life now that he doesn't get his way anymore.

Gamba on the other hand adjusted rather quickly. He was soon sniffing around and being a curious puppy.

But for the most part they all just sat there as far away from the chain as they could.

In the end though, they actually all adjusted fairly quickly and I surprisingly was not having to get up in the middle of night or early morning hours to untangle puppies from their chains. If they got a leg stuck or twisted up, they figured out how to get themselves unstuck. I got some smart puppies on my hands! Which means they quickly obtained longer chains so they can reach and play with each other.
